  1. This archive contains the PCHG (Palette CHanGe) IFF chunk specs and tools.
  2. The new IFF chunk PCHG allow to specify line-by-line palette changes in a
  3. simple way which is independent of the video mode; while it allows up to
  4. 65536 registers, it's usually shorter of an equivalent CTBL or SHAM chunk.
  5. Library code with full source and documentation is provided for a
  6. straightforward implementation in your programs. PCHG has been developed in
  7. BIX through an open discussion of many Amiga programmers, and it is our hope
  8. that it will become the Amiga standard for palette change technology.

  10. Included in the archive is the last version of Mostra (1.08), which features
  11. full PCHG support.

  13. Mons.mp is a hi-res laced multipalette picture generated via VistaPro and
  14. HamLab.

  16. Documentation about the format is provided in Texinfo, dvi and AmigaGuide®
  17. format (PCHG.texinfo, PCHG.dvi, PCHG.guide). Documentation about the support
  18. routines is provided in standard Autodoc format.
